Think positive: tips for a better life

Think positive: tips for a better life

Think positive consciously
Whether joy, anger, sadness, or emotion – our mood is practically always controlled by our head. This holds a great opportunity: through mindfulness, a healthy self-assessment, or even a change of perspective, you can give a new, positive direction to life circumstances that appear difficult to you at first. You benefit in several ways from an optimistic outlook on life. Those who learn to think positively are not only more satisfied and creative, they also live healthier. A positive attitude reduces negative stress and strengthens the immune system.

Enjoy the moment and relax: Think positive!
In order to change the way you look at yourself and your life and learn to think positively, it is first necessary to take a close look at the typical patterns of thought and behavior that you have acquired. For example, you can create a list on which you write down your thoughts. If you find that your thoughts are often revolving around possible problems in the future and you are lost in irrelevant worries, it is time to break the loop of negative thoughts. These will not lead you to a satisfactory conclusion. After all, the future is uncertain and therefore uncontrollable.

Healthy self-confidence is the key
Those who often doubt themselves quickly get caught up in the vortex of thought that causes a bad mood. But it also works the other way around: Those who like themselves and accept their weaknesses say goodbye to exhausting perfectionism. This contributes significantly to happiness in everyday life because the unconditional will to always do everything one hundred percent right and right for everyone is stress for body and soul – unfavorable prerequisites for learning to think positively. If, on the other hand, you know your abilities (and your limits) and know how to use them in a targeted manner, you can strengthen your self-confidence. A healthy self-assessment is the best basis for calming down and developing a positive charisma. This not only brings you forward in your private life but also in your job. Who believes in himself not only convinces others faster of his performance. You also classify failures for what they are: valuable experiences to grow with.

Stay positive with realistic goals
Positive thinking leads to an optimistic attitude. However, you should also remain realistic so that it doesn’t falter. Would you like to get fitter, maybe lose a few pounds? In such a case, it is important to think realistically. Don’t wish to become a muscle pack in two weeks. Set yourself feasible goals that you can achieve well but not without effort. Realistic planning could look like this: From now on you leave the elevators to the left and take the stairs instead. You no longer cover short distances by car, but by bike or on foot. From now on, sweets are only available on weekends. After a few weeks, you start to jog regularly for a quarter of an hour on a certain day of the week – without exception. Then you slowly increase your workload.

Give yourself little sense of achievement through achievable goals. Every single one of them gives you a good mood kick. Changes bring momentum to life and we learn from it. Every conscious learning success triggers a moment of happiness and also lands on the have side of your self-confidence.

Think positive: recognize opportunities in failure
Stresses in life are normal. It is important that you do not dwell too long on the negative feelings that they often create. Instead, just think about the advantages of an initially negative situation. Example: the queue at the supermarket checkout. Do not concentrate on the waiting time, but use the moments to take a deep breath, perhaps meditate briefly and let your thoughts run free. See the situation as an exercise in patience. Once you have seen the positive aspects, satisfaction returns quickly. For permanent or more difficult challenges, you may need something more tangible so that you can think positively again. If you have a colleague who annoys you more often, it is best to write down the constructive aspects on a piece of paper.

5 habits of positive people

5 habits of positive people

A positive person starts their day happy, full of confidence and optimism. He is a master of the art of living. Be a positive person and see optimism as a gift and a task.

When desires take shape – draw from the five habits of positive people
Some people trigger an amazing sense of wellbeing with their positive mood. Apparently they enjoy experiencing happiness and making others happy. Positive people are highly contagious and spread pure happiness in their surroundings.

Follow the nature of life-affirming people and adopt five of their most valuable habits:

1. Start the day mindfully and in a good mood
The definition: “Optimists are people who think everything is half as bad and twice as good” comes from the popular actor Heinz Rühmann, who has already made many people laugh with his humorous and cordial manner. Do you want to start every day in a good mood? Here is an easy way to start the morning in a happy mood. As you get up and get dressed, repeat the phrase, “Today is a beautiful day.” At first, this exercise may seem strange, but your subconscious stores this positive thought pattern. You can access it anytime. Perhaps the practice is even easier if you develop a benevolent attitude through metta meditation.

2. Radiate security and believe in yourself
Confidence is an important quality of positive people. You gain the necessary self-confidence through goals that you have set yourself. If you believe in yourself, then you will not just stand by and dream of the fulfillment of your wishes. Rather, you are committed as a positive person. Gain time for the essentials and create a positive mood.

Tip: Differentiate the important from the unimportant wishes. If you direct all of your thought power to a few, but significant wishes, the basic law of positive people automatically comes into play: “The smallest spark of thought can become a shining fire.”

3. Act fearlessly and with determination
Optimists don’t talk about obstacles or difficulties. Rather, they tell of their dreams, hopes, and wishes, of their goals, and the way to get there.

Tip: confront yourself with feelings that sometimes you would rather not have. Develop a healthy distance from your self-doubt and increase your well-being. This is how it works: Note in a diary which uncertainties plague you and what can happen in the worst case. This process alone leads to a certain relaxation. Now write a success list. Record what is going well and what skills you have to master difficult situations. Then take a look at the list of your uncertainties. They are probably not going. But you look at them from a different perspective and possibly with a pinch of humor.

4. Change ingrained thought patterns
Leave the “I-addicted” thinking structures like self-pity, struggling with fate, and “brooding over” events that can no longer be changed. Redeem your ticket at the counter, but get off if you need to. You have certainly experienced situations that were not pleasant. Can you remember a moment when it was only through the confidence that you found a way to move on? Take up this situation and experience the confirmation that you can handle anything.

5. Reinforce your strengths
Positive people know that they can learn anything. Many roads lead through self-confidence. Pay attention to your inner signals and trust them. Nobody was born a genius. Ingenuity arises from the hope of success, from an optimistic self-assessment and active activity. It thrives in a positive mood. Say goodbye to everyday superficialities and become something special. Your talent can only develop through activity. Write down your ideas, encourage your subconscious to cooperate, and practice the art of thinking ahead. This is not an escape from reality, rather you are laying the foundation for tomorrow.
If you strive for the utmost, then you will achieve what is possible!
